He leads business development and growth opportunities domestically and internationally. He guides clients in fulfilling their vision, goals and objectives in strategic areas including Energy, Defense, Infrastructure & Transportation, Information Technologies, Finance & Banking and Sports & Tourism.
Puneet’s expertise has enabled him to work with international companies seeking to enter US markets. In addition, he helps US companies navigate their way into South Asia region dealing directly with the political and business authorities of those countries. The goal is to work with large corporations and SME’s of India to do joint ventures with large to mid US companies. It is the unique understanding of both Western and Asian cultures and protocols that build synergies and bridges of success and productivity.
Puneet represents Sulabh International, helping to fulfill “Clean India” vision of Prime Minster Narendra Modi and Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak. He launched the US tour “Making of the Legend” book on the life of Prime Minster Narendra Modi, published by Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak in 2017. The book was personally presented to US leadership. Dr. Pathak and Puneet worked together in promoting “Trump Village” in India.
Puneet hosted and facilitated a private roundtable meeting for Rahul Gandhi, an Indian Member of Parliament and leader of the Congress Party and Milind Deora, MP and former Minister of State in both the Ministry of Shipping, IT and Technology, in a private roundtable with members of US Senate and South Asia experts from State Department and Think Tank community in September 2017.
Puneet represents Voice of Karachi in the US to promote the cause and issues of Muhajir’s of Karachi, Pakistan with US leadership & State Department and Think Tank community. He has created a narrative of their plight in mainstream US media. He facilitated and advised on their activities in US. He is instrumental in building the “South Asia Minorities Alliance Foundation” (SAMAF) to highlight their importance and leverage to stabilize the South Asia region. He has built a strong coalition of Muhajirs, Pashtuns, Baloch and other minorities.
Puneet successfully hosted an event with 18 Congressman in attendance on behalf of SAMAF at the prestigious Veteran Affairs Committee Office in September 2018. He had staff members from Congressional office, international media and representative from the office of Ambassador Sam Brownback on International Religious Freedom (IRF).
Puneet has worked with reputable trade organizations such as US India Business Council (USIBC) & US-India Import Council (USIIC) to increase trade initiatives between two nations. He facilitated a targeted business roundtable with blue chip Indian business heads with Governor Terry McAuliffe of Virginia in November 2015. He hosted Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina’s in Delhi & Mumbai during her visit to India in November 2014.
Puneet worked with one of the largest coalitions of Developers (2030group.org) in Washington Metropolitan area. Together they have been instrumental in bringing in federal funds for development of roads and bridges. He is exploring development opportunities in Washington Metropolitan region with his strategic partner Scott York, who was 4 term Chairman of Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
Puneet represented Monster Inc. to develop a job portal for the State of Virginia and Lexis Nexis (RELX Group) in the state of Maryland to develop fraud prevention for the Department of Human Services and Resources. He is experienced in navigating thru state agencies various departments and their process.
One of the area of specialty is coalition building, has used his ability to build support in various states for the Information Technology business community to build and garner support for the Immigration Bill. He spearheaded the grassroots campaign in Virginia & New Jersey for Rep. Issa’s Skill Visa Act. He served as the Director of Indian American Coalition for Senator Bryce Reeves, candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.
Puneet worked for Murray Energy, largest privately held Coal Company of US. Worked on the EPA issues with elected leadership and set up the roundtable with International community on Republican stance on Environment before COP21 in France.
Puneet contributes to various leading international newspapers i.e. Washington Times, National Interest, CSIS, TOI, Hindustan Times, Economic Times, etc. and writes for US mainstream & Indian media. He is a frequent commentator on US-India relations on India Today TV, CNN Times Now and others in India. He effectively works on media & branding strategy with various media groups. Earlier in 2018, he served as a Jury Member of Exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards 2017 (ENBA 2017).
He is Advisor to Humming Birds Consulting Company. It specializes in providing IT training for Cyber Security and other key fields, Web Development & Marketing, human capital and staff augmentation. It partners with emerging technologies to provide market access in private sector, federal & state agencies. He is advising and helping to provide job training for veterans and recent college graduates which is part of President Trump’s economic agenda.
He was appointed to President Trump’s Asia Pacific Advisory Committee during the campaign. He actively supported and debated on issues and promoted his platform. He served on State Central Committee position of Republican Party of Virginia. The position deals with State Party plan and nomination of candidates. He served till April 2018 as the 1st Vice Chairman of Fairfax County Virginia Republican Committee (FCRC). He headed the Community Engagement Committee (CEC), which leads all inclusivity and grassroots efforts to various minority communities (African, Hispanic & Asians) and business coalitions (doctors, lawyers, veterans & others).
He graduated from Delhi University in 1988 specializing in Tourism. Working for the India Tobacco Company (ITC) travel agency, He specialized in International & Domestic travels, Inbound & Outbound Tours and handling major conferences. This helped in bringing in much needed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into various cities and countries thru Tourism, spurting growth in all sectors of economy.
Puneet has media/journalism experience having worked for the Dutch Newspaper “NRC Handelsblad” and later the Dow Jones Publication “Far Eastern Economic Review,” as Bureau Manager, a sister company of “Asian Wall Street Journal”. This experience helped to directly work and facilitate relationships with leading political, business and religious leadership of South Asia.
In late 1990 he immigrated to the United States and became actively involved in real estate, participating in various aspects of the industry– including development, construction, sale and resale.
In 1999 he launched a Mortgage company “Loans & Mortgages, LLC”. As President and CEO, he successfully grew the company to over 170 employees. The diversified company with multi-lingual staff specialized in construction and land loans. The business further expanded into providing home and business insurance thru “Tysons Insurance”, writing policies with Travelers, Hartford and other major national insurance carriers.
In 2009, he joined George Allen Strategies, headed by former Virginia Governor & U.S. Senator, George Allen, assisting and advising on various Economic, Financial and Energy issues.
Puneet has served on many charitable and advisory boards including the Advisory Board of The Business Bank, the Board of the Center for Multi-Cultural Human Services (CMHS) and Rotary Club of Dunn Loring, Virginia. Presently, Puneet serves on the Board of Northern Virginia Republican Business Forum (NVRBF). He has close association and intimate knowledge of India’s political, Bollywood & sports (cricket) industry leadership.
